13. Communications by text message (SMS)

13.1 Consent (Opt-in)

By checking the SMS opt-in box during a consultation request, or by voluntarily providing us with your mobile phone number, you expressly consent to receive text messages (SMS) from Christian Blanchette, Psychologist. SMS consent is not a condition of receiving our psychological services.

13.2 Nature of the messages

The messages we may send you concern in particular:

• the confirmation, change or cancellation of an appointment;
• appointment reminders;
• administrative follow-ups;
• the transmission of documents (service agreements, authorizations, tax receipts);
• replies to your questions related to your follow-up.

No message will be used for marketing or promotional purposes by third parties.

13.3 Message frequency

Message frequency is variable, depending on your appointments and your exchanges. You can expect to receive up to 4 messages per month on average.

13.4 Charges

Standard message and data rates may be charged by your mobile service provider depending on your plan. Christian Blanchette, Psychologist does not charge any additional fees for sending or receiving SMS.

13.5 Unsubscribing (Opt-out)

You may withdraw your consent and unsubscribe from text messages at any time, free of charge, by one of the following means:

• reply STOP (or ARRÊT, ANNULER, FIN, DÉSABONNER) to any text message received;
• call us at 819-510-4376;
• write to us at christian@christianblanchette.com.

Upon receipt of your request, we will stop sending non-essential text messages within a reasonable timeframe. A confirmation of unsubscription may be sent to you.

13.6 Help (HELP)

For help with text messages, you can reply HELP (or AIDE) to any message received, or reach us at 819-510-4376 or christian@christianblanchette.com.

13.7 Confidentiality and sharing

Mobile information will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. Your personal information, including your mobile phone number, is never sold or rented. The processing of your information is governed by our Privacy Policy.

13.8 Limits of SMS

SMS is not a means of emergency communication. In an emergency, please call 811, option 2 (Info-Social) or 911. Please also avoid sending highly sensitive information by SMS.
